About Us
OUR AIMS
Formed on 3rd March 1977, the aim of Willingdon Probus Club is to create opportunities for retired professional and business men to meet up with each other on a friendship basis, to share conversational topics of interest, to plan social events and agree possible places of interest to visit. On some occasions charitable donations are made.
MEMBERS
Members come from Eastbourne and the surrounding area and total around 40 in number.
A variety of career backgrounds have been experienced that include:
Banking, Insurance, Engineering, Law, Accounting, Teaching and many more.
Members other interests include:
Charitable, Church, Golf, Bridge, Travel, Computing, Fishing, Bird Watching, Walking and so on..........
MEETING PLACES and TIMES
We meet at The Willingdon Golf Club on the 1st Thursday of the month, (12.30pm for 1.00pm) for lunch, followed by an outside Speaker when charitable donations are made and then again at the same venue on the 3rd Thursday of the month, (10.00am for 10.15am) for a short Coffee Meeting that includes reports from The Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and other Officers and includes details of forthcoming social outings, a Raffle and a short talk by a club member or outside speaker.

GUESTS
Once a quarter in January, June and September our lunch becomes a 'Ladies Lunch' held at The Langham Hotel, in Eastbourne.
On these occasions and in April each year at our Annual Dinner, which is normally held at the Hydro Hotel, we are pleased to have our partners join us together with other invited guests.

CHAIRMAN
Our current Chairman, Nick Goff, has steered the Club over the past 18 months during the Covid19 pandemic and kept all the members in the picture about the Club's activities and future arrangements. SOCIAL
Throughout the year and particularly in the months from Spring to Autumn, outings are arranged to places in the South East and sometimes further afield. These are conducted mainly by the use of cars but on occasion by use of a local coach company and joining one of their regular outings.
